He doesn’t have an album out yet, but congrats are in order for rapper Jidenna who won Best New Artist Award at the 2015 Soul Train Awards!
During his acceptance speech, Janelle Monae’s Wondaland Records protégé recalled how his father pushed him to be the best, recalling a time when he brought home a test from school with a 98 score. “Where are your other two points?” he father asked. Looks like he’s living up to his father’s standards!
His song “Classic Man” stirred up the airwaves this past summer and his suits made it cool for the young fellas to rock tailored suits again.
