Earlier this year, Tyrese hinted his wishes to play his the love interest of his former co-star Taraji P. Henson (Cookie) on an episode of FOX’s hit show Empire, and it looks like it will come to pass!
On a recent interview with Wendy Williams, Tyrese revealed he will appear on season two of the show as Cookie’s love interest. "Me and Taraji, we gotta do what we do. I'm coming to get my girl back," he told Wendy. "All them dudes on [Empire] kissing on my girl. I'm kind of done with seeing all of that," Tyrese joked.
In March, Tyrese playfully posted a blurb on IG as his character Jody from the 2001 film Baby Boy vowing to get his girl back (meaning Yvette, Henson’s character). He wrote on IG, “I’m not cool with all these dudes feeling up on Yvette and it's on TV? I heard they call her Cookie now? The homies are telling me I gotta get my b-tch back… I guess I gotta change my name too and do some show called #Empire? Cause that' where Yvette is now under her alias #Cookie? Damn…. see you soon — Jody."
“Empire” talk starts at 1:32. It should be cool to see how Tyrese and Taraji's chemistry plays out in another storyline!
