As a man, D’Angelo got a taste of what it feels like to be objectified like women often are…but he was there for it!
This week, D’Angelo broke his 10-year talk show absence by visiting the Tavis Smiley Show where he talked about his heralded-yet-tumultuous 20-year career.
A part of the interview touched on how the trajectory of the multiple Grammy-award winning musician’s career took a shift after the popularity of his infamously-steamy video "Untitled (How Does It Feel)." He says it would bother him that despite his amazing band and musicianship during his live shows, women in the crowd would merely focus on wanting him to take his clothes off.
“I kinda felt like a male stripper,” he said. “But I wasn’t mad at that,” he reveals.
