After 2014's rape allegations/controversy, Cee-Lo Green is aiming to put all that in the past and working on new music, specifically a new album called Heart Blanche. According to Billboard, Heart Blanche (which follows 2010’s The Lady Killer) is due towards the end of 2015.
Atlantic Records CEO Craig Kallman reveals, "We’re actually in the final stages of completing his album. He’s really been hard at work. We’ve got a big, big list of songs that we’ve been going through, and we’re kind of mixing the final songs now. We’re going to be imminently figuring out his marketing plan and single release schedule."
Throughout Cee-Lo’s lockdown in the music lab, he’s been working with a plethora of producers and musicians such as Mark Ronson, Eg White (Adele, Sam Smith), and Wallpaper (Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty”). His manager, Larry Mestel adds, “It’s arguably the best piece of work he’s ever done. It’s very rare to find artists these days that focus on an album as a body of work—most albums these days are just collections of songs, but that’s not the case here.”
They’re certainly talking this project up! Do you think Cee-Lo will be able to salvage his career with this project?
