Jermaine Dupri may receive a furious phone call from Mariah Carey after he slammed her in a recent interview for slacking. Speaking with HipHollywood, the music producer and industry veteran said the music icon isn't "serious" about her career all the time.
"It's some artist that's out there that ain't as serious as they're supposed to be, and I think sometimes Mariah don't take it as serious as she should," Jermaine said about Carey.
He adds later, "Sometimes the media is a little too hard on Mariah, but I think sometimes she has to pay attention to that and say, 'Imma a be a 100 times more serious than I feel like being right now.'"
JD defended his comments, insisting, "People expect you to put it at a level that they're [not] expected to touch." He also used Jay Z as an example of a veteran superstar who continues to take things to new heights.
And Yes, Bow Wow had to sit through JD's rant.
