Last week, Melanie Fiona dropped the brand new single "Bite The Bullet" from her upcoming album Awake, and now she ups the promo to the tube!
Melanie performed the song for the first time on television on Fuse TV's SKEE TV show with an acoustic version of the reggae groove, and she killed the live performance, as usual…vocals on fleek!
She also sat down with host Scott Keeney to chat about her hiatus, the new album and working with Drake back in the day. About the break, she says she needed to live a little more and back away to get some more inspiration. "I needed to take care of my health, make sure I was great, sound, body, mind and get some new stories to make a new album. It was definitely a conscious decision," she explained.
The Toronto native also sided on working with Drake, another fellow Torontonian. "We met, and we just started this little collective [The Renaissance], it was myself, him, a keyboard player, and another vocalist…It’s really nice to see that from that small interaction of developing a bit of community with us four, we’ve all gone on to go on to do independent projects… to know where we come from and now where we are,” she said.
About her album, she says she has many songs to narrow down for the final product, with production from Dre, Jerry Wonda, and Jack Splash. “I’m really pleased with the selection I have and hope the fans will love it.”
