A documentary film about the life is the late Amy Winehouse is coming to British theaters this summer.
On July 3, Amy will premiere in the U.K. and will feature and rare footage, never-before-heard recordings, and home movies of the singer throughout her life, much of the film narrated in her own words.
“Singing has always been important to me, but I never thought I’d end up singing or be a singer,” says Amy. “I just thought I’m lucky that it’s something I can always do if I want to.”
The film is directed by Asif Kapadia and produced James Gay-Rees. Winehouse died in 2011 from alcohol poisoning at the age of 27.
