Last month, the Sony hack revealed that Beyoncé’s former manager and father Mathew Knowles approached the media company about potentially producing a biopic about the platinum-selling female R&B group known as Destiny’s Child. Well, it looks like Papa Knowles isn’t the only one.
In an exclusive interview with MadameNoire, former DC co-manager Brian K. Moore is also looking to have a film made about the group based on his book “The Making of a Child of Destiny: The Andretta Tillman Story” about the life of another ex-co manager Andretta Tillman, who passed away from complications with lupus and how they formed the group (then known as Girls Tyme).
Moore tells MadameNoire there’s interest in two films, one focusing on the original members of Girls Tyme/Destiny’s Child as children, and another on Tillman and the adult management of the group. “I think it will be greatly received. It’s the true story of what really happened and how it all came to be. It’s a story that only myself or one of the girls in the group could tell,” Moore said.
About the late Andretta Tillman, Moore explains it was her lifelong wish to create a successful girl’s group, and that he thinks Knowles did a great job after she passed away. “I think that he did an impeccable job. No personal feelings do I really have. I haven’t seen the man or been around him. It’s been 17 years since I walked away so I really wouldn’t have anything to say other than what people are saying in the media…Personally, I really don’t have any ill feelings towards Mathew. He took the wheels and ran with it,” he said.
