August Alsina suffered multiple seizures after fainting during a concert 24 in New York City and is now hospitalized.
A rep for the R&B singer tells TMZ:
“August is in the ICU of a New York City hospital and receiving treatment for the seizures. We broke the story when he fainted and fell off a stage last night.”
As previously reported, while performing at Irving Plaza in NYC for his “Testimony Live Tour,” Alsina passed out on stage during a performance of his song “Numb.” His bodyguards then came to his aid and swooped him away as he lay limp, still unconscious. He was taken away on a stretcher to the nearest hospital.
Following his release from the hospital, Alsina appeared on New York’s Power 105.1.
Alsina’s collapse and seizures is belief to be from exhaustion and dehydration. A drug test revealed only marijuana in his system.
“Yesterday was a long painful night…smh,” wrote tour-mate and friend Teyana Taylor. “Headed back to the hospital to check my lil homie @augustalsina He’s resting up. That’s all he needs, it’s been a long tour & incredible tour for us!! He appreciates everybody’s love, support and prayers. Thank You Guys!”
