Patti LaBelle is heading to television with a just announced role in FX's "American Horror Story: Freak Show."
Booked for a four episode arc, LaBelle has been cast to play the mother of Gabourey Sidibe's character.
"LaBelle’s alter ego — who I’m told does not sing — is a local townsperson who begins to unravel the murderous secrets of Twisty the clown killer," reports TV Line.
"American Horror Story: Freak Show" centers on the last freak show in America in the early 1950s.
LaBelle joins cast, in addition to Sidibe ("Precious"), including Angela Bassett, Frances Conroy and Kathy Bates.
