Beyonce continues to reap the rewards on being the first major artist to release a surprise album… a visual one for that matter.
The R&B superstar is the front-runner for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards with eight (8) nods including Video of the Year for "Drunk in Love," which will see her facing off against Pharrell’s "Happy," Iggy Azalea's "Fancy," Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball," and Sia's "Chandelier."
Other Nominations from Queen B and her latest album, Beyonce, include “Best Female Video and Cinematography” for “Partition,” “Best Collaboration” for “Drunk In Love,” featuring hubby Jay Z and “Best Direction, Editing and Video With a Social Message” for her “Pretty Hurts” visual.
Following closely behind Beyonce are Iggy Azalea and Eminem, who both received seven nominations. Azalea doubles up in the “Best Pop Video” and “Best Female Video” categories with her hit single “Fancy” and her feature on Ariana Grande’s smash "Problem" while Eminem was nominated for “Best Hip-Hop Video.”
The MTV VMAs will air live August 24th from The Forum in Inglewood, California. Performers will include Grande, Usher and 5 Seconds of Summer.
