Chicago-based vocalist/producer The GTW releases the video "Calling Cards" from his upcoming album Chigeria. You may recognize the familiar track borrows from the 1995 tune “My Boo” by The Ghostown DJs, to which he adds smooth falsetto to the fluttery drum pattern.
Influenced by soul music, ATL bass, ghetto & African house music, the Chi-Town artist explains the video: “‘Calling Cards’ is a smooth look into the frustrations and joys of spending the last day with a significant other before the final move. I wanted to tap into an emotion that almost everyone has felt at a certain time. The video sits in a moody setting and is accented by us both balling out playing FIFA, scrambling eggs, footsie party in the bedroom, and me trying to crack a smile at our "last supper."
