A gaunt James DeBarge (50), formerly of the famed family singing group The DeBarges, was spotted on Tuesday (March 25) with Dr. Conrad Murray (61), who was at one point, the world’s most hated man after being convicted for the negligent June 25, 2009 death of the King of Pop Michael Jackson.
The two men and their girlfriends dined in Beverly Hills at the seafood spot Crustacean. DeBarge (unfortunately known more for his substance abuse than his music) looked very scrawny in a gray hoodie while Murray seems to be well following his stint in prison.
Speaking of jail, according to TMZ, Murray and DeBarge know each other supposedly because they were jail mates in the Los Angeles County Jail cell block! Murray was convicted in 2011 of involuntary manslaughter in the death of MJ, and DeBarge was in the slammer at the same time when he was arrested on drug and assault charges.
Now, as to how these two are running in the same circle, there are obvioulsy many parallels here: DeBarge is an ex-husband of Janet Jackson, the sister of Michael Jackson, whom Murray was convicted of being partly responsible for his death due to lethal substances. And Debarge’s history of substance abuse may have spurred Murray on to school Debarge on the dangers of substances. Or, maybe it's just because it's Hollywood! Whatever the reason, they’ve obviously formed a friendship…it's just an unexpected pairing!
