On her latest studio album, The Truth, Ledisi is in no shape or form trying to sell sex, but the Grammy nominated singer is finally at a place where she is feeling confident physically and emotionally, and it’s being reflected in her music and life.
"I was two songs away from being done with The Truth when I decided I have to make a lifestyle change, physically. I got a nutritionist. I don’t like the treadmill so I did [an aerobics class called] Hip Hop and Heels," she told Essence.
The progression of her fashion sensibilities was solely decided by Ledisi — her record label never attempted to push her in a sexy direction. “It had nothing to do with a label, or music. I wanted to celebrate that part of me. I want to be seen as well as heard. I’ve been doing sexy songs – Lost & Found."
With the release of the new project, Ledisi will hit the road for two and a half months on the 'The Truth' tour. The trek will kick off on April 16th in Jackson, Florida.
