Jessie J was brought to tears when she heard Brandy's voice on a new song slated to be featured on her anticipated sophomore album, "Alive."

Titled "Conquer This World," the empowering track came together after a chance meeting between the two at Clive Davis' annual Pre-Grammy party.

"The Brandy duet was a dream. It was on my dream list. I had the honor of meeting Brandy and working with her at the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy party, where myself, Monica and Brandy were doing the Diana Ross tribute. Obviously, sadly, that night Whitney passed. We never performed, but I was able to maintain a friendship with Brandy and Monica…. I wrote "Conquer The World" and was like 'this would be an amazing duet with Brandy," Jessie J shared in a recent interview with That Grape Juice.

According to Jessie J, the "Two Eleven" singer agreed to record for the song after receiving a chance text from her and when she got it, while getting her hair cut, it brought tears to her eyes.

"When I got it I started crying. It was a lot. She's just Brandy. She's amazing," Jessie J shares in video below.

As for the rest of her new album, Jessie J went on to say that she wanted to work with people that would "bring out the best" in her.

"… I feel like I'm someone that works when under pressure and when having the opportunity to go in with Darkchild, Dr. Luke, Claude Kelly, Brandy, Big Sean, Dizzie Rascal… I feel very much like I pulled it together. And everyone that represented on the album has made it more special," said Jessie J.

"Alive" is due for released September 23.

Jessie J’s Upcoming Album ‘R.O.S.E

The highly anticipated album ‘R.O.S.E’ is set to showcase a deeper side of Jessie J’s artistry. This four-part album, which stands for Realizations, Obsessions, Sex, and Empowerment, is said to be her most personal work yet. It explores the ups and downs of her life including heartbreak, self-discovery, and female empowerment.

Jessie J has been teasing fans with snippets of the songs on Instagram Live, but she hasn’t revealed too much about what we can expect from the album. However, we do know that it features collaborations with Kehlani and Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman. The singer has also promised that this album will have a more stripped-back sound compared to her previous work.

The first single off ‘R.O.S.E’, ‘Think About That’, was released in September 2017 and showcased Jessie J’s powerful vocals over an atmospheric beat. From what we’ve heard so far, it seems like this album will be a departure from the poppy sounds she’s known for and will instead focus on raw emotion and storytelling.
