Prince appears royally stoic on the cover of the August Issue of V Magazine, but that’s what one does when you stand as a legend at the top of the music chain; not much can affect you. Rocking a ‘fro and eclectic jacket, the icon stands with his famous poker face, seemingly inflexible towards the trends around him; untouchable even.
Literally. He doesn’t own a cell phone. "Are you serious? Hell, no,” he told the mag. So when it comes to being so private, it’s because if he doesn’t reach out first, it’s a no go. “Nobody really talks to me. Nobody talks to me a lot. I talk to her. She talks to you. She talks to Richard. And so on and so forth. If I trust her, then you can trust her.”
The air of mystery that surrounds him, mixed with his musical prowess has solidified the musician’s longevity. When talking about bout the realness of his music, Prince relishes in the quality of his sound, and proud to say he’s never lip synced. "This music changes you,” he told V. “These people are not being satisfied elsewhere by musicians, you feel what I’m saying? It’s no disrespect to anyone else, because we’re not checking for them. But we don’t lip synch. We ain’t got time for it. Ain’t no tape up there."
