Legend Charlie Wilson was the 2013 recipient of the Cadillac Lifetime Achievement award at the 2013 BET Awards. For his tribute, India.Arie sang an acoustic version of “There Goes My Baby” in a shiny, bronze flared body suit. Jaime Foxx proceeded to take the baton to sing “Yearning For Your Love,” and legend Stevie Wonder took the jamming Gap Band hit “Burn Rubber on Me” and sung a rendition that rivaled the original!
Justin Timberlake presented the award to the vet, and Wilson said during his speech, “I wanna give praise to God, it's by his grace that allows me to be here today, STILL at the top of my game!”
Charlie then took the stage by storm and performed his ballad “You Are.” “Nephew” Snoop Dogg/Lion then joined his “uncle” Charlie and Pharrell for the hit “Beautiful.” Justin Timberlake then joined for a snippet of “First Name Charlie Last Name Wilson,” “Signs,” “You Dropped the Bomb On Me,” and “Outstanding” medley that had the Nokia theater rocking!
