"American Idol" finalist and "Glee" star Jessica Sanchez is celebrating Memorial Day in Washington D.C..
Taking part in the National Memorial Day Concert, Sanchez will perform "God Bless America" on the West lawn of the U.S. Capitol Sunday night.
"The performance is especially significant to Sanchez given that she has military connections in her own family. Her father, Gilbert Sanchez, has served several tours of duty in Iraq and Kuwait with the U.S. Navy and her grandfather Edward M. Bugay is a retired Navy veteran," reports Capital Concerts.
The concert, which features appearances and performances from Candice Glover and Chris Mann, is slated to air Sunday, May 26 at 8 p.m. ET on PBS.
