Singersroom's "IndieRotation" is a weekly evaluation of the latest singles, leaks and releases from independent artists. Each week we will deliver a list that showcases the week's hottest records based on our editorial staff, listeners’ feedback and spins.
Over the last few years, Mark Morrison has been leaking songs, but has not found the same success as "Return of the Mack." This week he attracted attention with new record, "I Am What I Am (Remix)," featuring Crooked I. On this cut, the British R&B singer lays it all out about what type of man he is…a good one. "I'm the type of man who loves to fight, not when wrong just when right / I'm the type of man who has to pray every night and every day," he sings.
Behind Morrison on the countdown is Mahoning Valley Records artist Bella Nae. The single "No Tears" is a free flowing tempo, fitting for a record about throwing the deuces to the past in hopes for a better future.
The confidence from Love Dominique's "Down" is shared by listeners. The emerging Houston songstress' airy vocals, unexpected chords, and catchy melody make for a different type of banger that the ladies are sure to bump.
