As part of The Wat-aah! Foundation sponsored “Move Your Body 2013” campaign, many celebs participated in a PSA to kick off the third annual nationwide kids exercise event to take place on May 1. The event supports First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move!” platform that sets out to address the nation’s childhood obesity epidemic.
On May 1 in New York and Los Angeles at 1:42 EST and 10:42 PST, 250,000 kids in over 600 schools in cities across the country such as Washington D.C., Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, San Diego, Phoenix, Portland and Jacksonville have signed on to do the Let's Move! Flash Workout; a choreographed dance to Beyonce’s “Move Your Body,” a re-recording from her hit single “Get Me Bodied.”
Ever since its inception in 2011, the “Move Your Body” campaign has grown nationwide, thanks to the kids. "The WAT-AAH! Foundation is committed to facilitating this event for the thousands of participating students, acknowledging their hard work and their desire to live healthy lives,” said Rose Cameron, CEO and Founder of WAT-AAH!. “It has become more than a fun, well-choreographed exercise routine with great music, it is a celebration of the children’s efforts to stay healthy and the WAT-AAH! Foundation will not abandon them. May 1st is the day we celebrate the children and applaud their efforts.”
