Veteran R&B crooner John Legend recently dropped his new single, "Who Do We Think We Are" featuring Rick Ross, which is set to appear on his upcoming fourth album, Love in the Future. The follow-up to 2008′s Evolver was produced by Legend, Kanye West, and Dave Tozer, and will arrive on June 25 via Columbia/G.O.O.D. Music.

During a recent promo visit to London, the Tonight (Best You've Ever Had)" hitmaker sat down with ThatGrapeJuice for a candid interview about the forthcoming effort. The soulful singer spoke about his approach with Love in the Future, and whom he has worked with on it.

“I’m so excited to release this project. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed making this album with a team of incredibly gifted producers and co-writers,” said Legend. “Every day we went to the studio with the goal to create something beautiful, to make the best album of my career. After all the writing and arranging and re-mixing and editing, it’s finally time for the world to hear it.”

The video for “Who Do We Think We Are” was filmed in New York early March and is set to premiere in mid-April.

In addition, John discussed the younger crop of male R&B/Soul artists and if he feels competition from them. He admitted he still needs to collaborate with Beyoncé and even shared his thoughts on her new song “Bow Down,” plus more.

John Legend has been making major moves in the music industry lately. His latest LP, ‘Love In The Future’ is taking the R&B genre by storm and he’s not slowing down anytime soon. From his support of Beyonce’s new single ‘Bow Down’ to his thoughts on consistent R&B production, John has a lot to say about what’s going on in the world of music today. This article will discuss how John is shaking things up with his new project and more.

The critically-acclaimed singer/songwriter recently released ‘Love In The Future’, an album that reached #1 on iTunes’ R&B chart within hours of its release. Songs like “All Of Me” and “Made To Love,” featuring Rick Ross, have become instant fan favorites proving that John still knows how to make timeless hits. He even made sure to pay homage to some classic soul singers such as Stevie Wonder in this new work.

Not only did he craft a great body of work for fans around the world to enjoy but John also spoke out in favor of Beyonce’s controversial single, “Bow Down”. He showed nothing but respect for her artistry when addressing it which led many people to believe that there may be something special cooking between them musically. With all these recent events surrounding him, it seems like John Legend is well on his way towards becoming one of R&B’s biggest icons.

Album Overview

John Legend’s latest album, Love in the Future, is a reflection of his soulful R&B sound. With its infectious melodies and lush production values, it has been widely praised by both critics and fans alike. The collection highlights some of John’s most personal lyrics to date as he dives deep into matters such as love, heartbreak and family.

Throughout the project, John teams up with some impressive producers including frequent collaborator Kanye West. Together they create an eclectic mix of sounds that range from upbeat club bangers to slow-burning ballads. There are also several notable guest appearances including Jennifer Hudson on “Tonight (Best You Ever Had)” and Rick Ross on “Who Do We Think We Are?”

The title track serves as a perfect embodiment of what this album stands for – timelessness and longevity in music. It features Beyonce singing her own version of the song which speaks about how love will always be at the center regardless of popular trends or eras. This theme carries throughout much of Love in the Future, showing why John continues to remain one of today’s top R&B artists after all these years.

Collaborations And Inspirations

When it comes to collaborations, Love in the Future boasts an impressive lineup. Aside from Beyonce’s appearance on the title track, John also teams up with some of today’s hottest producers including Pharrell Williams and Hit-Boy. This collaboration is highlighted on “Made To Love” which has a classic R&B feel yet still manages to stay current thanks to its modern production values.

Speaking of inspiration, it seems that John was heavily influenced by his own life experiences when creating this album. From upbeat songs about being young and wild (“Caught Up”) to more somber reflections on love lost (“All Of Me”), he channels all these emotions into his music making for a very personal collection of songs. Additionally, the lyrics often reflect John’s signature brand of optimism as shown through tracks such as “The Beginning” where he speaks of hope even during difficult times.

Overall, Love in the Future stands out amongst other contemporary R&B albums due to its timeless sound and honest lyricism. It shows why John Legend continues to be one of the most respected voices in soul music today – providing fans with music that resonates both emotionally and sonically.

Conclusion

In conclusion, John Legend’s new album Love in the Future has already made quite a splash. His collaborations with artists such as Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg have added to its appeal, while his soulful R&B sound continues to capture audiences everywhere. With an impressive track list that includes songs written by Beyonce and Kanye West, this is sure to be one of the most talked about albums of 2013. Despite all of these accolades, it appears that John Legend remains humble and focused on making music for everyone. His willingness to collaborate with other artists, as well as his commitment to producing consistent quality R&B make him a force to be reckoned with in the industry today. As he works hard at promoting his latest release Love in the Future, there’s no doubt fans will continue to listen eagerly for what comes next from this talented musician.
