Aretha Franklin is getting ready for a big Spring/Summer 2013, including a number of performances and projects — among them is a release from her grandson.
Calling in to the Tom Joyner Morning Show this week, the Queen of Soul confirmed that her grandson, Jordan, is working on a new release.
"Eddie and Jordan, my grandson, I'm working on them. I'm getting them ready for video kits, their PR pictures and things like that," Franklin told Joyner.
The "Eleanor Rigby" and "Ain't No Way" singer also confirmed plans for a tour that will kick off on March 2 at the Seneca Allegany Hotel & Casino in Niagara Falls, NY. From there, she will visit cities like Toronto and Ottawa before returning to the U.S. for an appearance at the McDonald's Gospel Fest in Newark.
"I'm working through July. I'll be up in Toronto and Montreal and Ottawa. I'll be at the McDonald's Gospel fest in Newark, NJ in May. May the 11th. I'll also be at the performing arts center with Mayor Corey Booker," Franklin shared before calling Booker a "very bright young man."
Without giving anything away, she said "something very, very special is going to happen" in New Jersey.
