Legendary music industry veteran Quincy Jones is a fan of Frank Ocean, not just because of his music, but because of the way he has handled conflict.

"I'm a big fan of Frank and I like his integrity too. I just like how he's handled this last situation. I like that," Jones said when asked about Ocean over the weekend.

Imparting some advice and wisdom, Jones went on to say:

"Grace. I tell all of my kids… always have humility with your creativity and grace with your success or else God walks out of the room."

Watch Quincy Jones discuss Frank, Hip Hop and more below:

Quincy Jones is no stranger to the music industry, having been involved in it since before some of today’s biggest stars were even born. His incredible career has seen him work with icons like Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra, but now he’s applauding a new generation of talent – namely Frank Ocean. In an interview about his thoughts on the modern music industry, Jones spoke out about the importance of integrity when creating art.

The legendary producer had nothing but praise for Ocean’s latest record Blonde, calling it “one of the best albums I’ve ever heard”. He also used this as an opportunity to discuss how far the music industry has come over recent years; praising its diversity and evolution from his time as a young artist. But despite all these changes, one thing remains constant: Integrity is key.

Jones emphasized that while there are many musical styles available today, they must be created with artistic expression at their core. Without authenticity or honesty in its creation, any form of art will suffer greatly – something which we can clearly see isn’t present within much of modern popular music. To get to the heart of what makes great artistry, let us delve further into Quincy Jones’ views on integrity in the music industry!

Quincy Jones’ Praise Of Frank Ocean

Quincy Jones is a music industry legend, and he recently expressed his admiration for Frank Ocean in an insightful interview. He praised the young artist’s commitment to creative integrity and originality, as well as the way that he has stayed true to himself throughout his career. Jones said “Frank’s a genius; what he does musically is incredible…he follows no one else’s template or formula but his own. He takes chances, risks, and puts it all out there on the line for everyone to see.”

Jones believes that this kind of uncompromising attitude towards creativity is important in order to create something truly meaningful. According to him, “The key thing about making good music is being honest with yourself first before you try to be honest with anyone else—that’s very hard for people nowadays because they want immediate success without having done any work.”

He also emphasized the fact that although money can be helpful in certain circumstances when pursuing a musical career, it should not be seen as an end goal: “You just have to remain diligent and focused on your craft—not even focus so much on the money part of it; if you make sure your product is strong enough then everything will take care of itself.” This advice speaks volumes coming from such a renowned figure in the world of music production.

Discussion Of Music Integrity

Jones’ words are a reminder of the importance of maintaining creativity and integrity in the music industry. It is easy for an artist to be swayed by pressure from record labels, producers, or even fans who want them to make something that will instantly become popular with mainstream audiences. However, as Jones states, it’s important to stay true to yourself and create something that you believe in—otherwise you won’t have any lasting success.

This kind of dedication does not come easily; it takes lots of hard work and discipline to produce meaningful art. Staying focused on honing your craft can mean sacrificing short-term rewards like fame or money in exchange for long-term artistic growth. This is especially true when starting out as an up-and-coming musician: making sure your product stands out among all the competition requires immense dedication and perseverance.

The bottom line is that creating art — whether it’s music or anything else — should never be about chasing after success or recognition. Rather, it should always be driven by passion and internal motivation. By taking this attitude into consideration, artists can ensure that their creations remain genuine and honest while still having the potential to reach a wide audience.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Quincy Jones’ praise of Frank Ocean is a testament to the evolution of music and its industry. His words remind us that integrity should be valued above all else in the world of art. It’s important for artists to stay true to their artistic vision as well as strive to make something meaningful.

As an artist myself, I’m inspired by Quincy Jones’ statement. He reminds me that it’s OK if my own sound isn’t popular or conventional – what matters most is creating something with meaning and staying true to who I am. There are always going to be people out there trying to take advantage of musicians and compromise our artistry; but at the end of the day, we have to remember that it starts with ourselves and our commitment to creativity and honesty.

Frank Ocean has shown us how far one can go when they keep faith in themselves and don’t give up on their dreams. With his courage, he has opened many doors for emerging artists like me – reminding us that anything is possible when we remain committed to making music from an honest place within ourselves.
