R&B was truly present at B.B Kings restaurant in Times Square on January 20. Ladies were impressed with Grammy nominated R&B singer and songwriter, Eric Benet, as he performed some of his greatest hits: "Femininity," "Georgy Porgy ft Faith Evans," "Spend My Life ft Tamia," "I Wanna Be Loved," "Love Don't Love Me," "Harriet Jones," "You're The Only One," "Real Love," "News For You," "Pretty Baby," and "Chocolate Legs."

To set the mood at the beginning of the show, Benet's music was instrumental at first. But, once Benet stepped on the stage, he captivated the audience with his good looks, singing, charm, and comedic gesture. Audience members were truly entertained from the musician.

Benet looks at peace and relaxed as he sings to his fans and explains to them the current transition in his life. His new wife is Manuela Testolini, Prince's ex-wife. They were married on July 31, 2011. And Benet is a father for the second time; he gave birth to a baby girl, Lucia Bella on December 21, 2011.

Benet payed homage to his fans during the concert when he says, "Ya'll make my dreams come true everyday, twenty years later. Yall' still here, I love it, I love it, Thank you, God bless you, I love you."

Lastly, Benet ended the concert with his upbeat tempo song, "Georgy Porgy," and the audience was ecstatic. The song, "Georgy Porgy," was a party song during the late 90's. And fans recaptured that moment as they sang the lyrics to the song.

"If ya'll know this song, ya'll need to sing the chorus with me, and I want all of the ladies to scream," said Benet.

Benet, born in Mobile, Alabama and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was introduced to music at a young age. Benet's father enjoyed classical music and his mother is a singer as well. However, outside of his parents, Benet's musical influences are Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Al Green, Sly Stone, Donny Hathaway, and Marvin Gaye. Once Benet's parents discovered his musical talent, he started performing at church's choir, musicals, and plays.

He believed he was destined to be a musician because he wanted to pursue music professionally. Benet was recognized in the early 80's when he joined Gerard. When he joined the group, Benet was fascinated and experimented with various genres of music: hip-hop, soul, funk, rock, and pop.

Now over 20 years later, Benet received four Grammy nominations, six NAACP nominations, a Black Reel award, released six albums, including his latest, "The One," on June 5th 2012 on his own record label Jordan Records. Benet also collaborated with Grammy award winning rapper, Dwayne "Lil Wayne" Carter on the song, "Redbone Girl."

Benet was elated about releasing his latest album independently because he is the primary owner of his records. The One album exemplifies new beginnings in his career and personal life. Fans are looking forward to Benet's upcoming projects but Benet wants the industry to know that he's not going anywhere no time soon.

Eric Benet’s recent performance at B.B Kings was a night to remember! The singer captivated the audience with his smooth, soulful voice and mesmerizing stage presence. From classic hits like “Spend My Life With You” to newer tracks such as “Insane”, Eric Benet had everyone in attendance grooving along all night long. It was truly an unforgettable experience that no one in the crowd will soon forget.

The atmosphere of the evening was electric – filled with excitement and joy from start to finish. Eric Benet opened up the show with a powerful rendition of “Real Love” which set the tone for rest of the evening. He then followed it up with some equally impressive performances of fan favorites including “Georgy Porgy” and “Sometimes I Cry”. Each song was met with thunderous applause from the excited audience who sang along throughout each number.

The highlight of the night came when Eric Benet performed his hit single “Gotta Go Back” off his latest album, Storm & Grace. Everyone joined in on singing the chorus together, creating a beautiful harmony that echoed throughout B.B King’s hallowed halls . By the end of this special moment, all eyes were on Eric Benet as he thanked everyone for supporting him during what would be remembered as one of his best shows yet!

Performance Overview

Eric Benet’s performance at B.B King’s was a night to remember! His soulful music kept the crowd dancing and singing along all night long. He showed off his vocal range with some of today’s top R&B hits, as well as favorites from his own repertoire. The energy in the room was electric, and it seemed like no one wanted the show to end. Eric had everyone on their feet for hours – he could definitely feel the love!

The set-list included everything from slow jams to upbeat dance tunes. He even threw in a few medleys that showcased his vocal prowess and gave the audience an opportunity to get involved by singing along. Everyone cheered when he sang “You Can Love Me Now” and “Sometimes I Cry,” two of his most beloved songs. It felt like we were getting a private concert from him – especially during the acoustic portion where he shared stories between each song about how they came to be written or what inspired them.

At the end of the evening, there wasn’t a single person who didn’t leave feeling energized and uplifted by Eric’s amazing talent on stage. It was clear that this would be an unforgettable experience for us all!

Audience Response

The audience response was overwhelmingly positive! People were dancing, singing along, and cheering throughout the entire show. Eric’s soulful voice had everyone captivated while he performed some of his most popular tracks. During the slower songs like “Sometimes I Cry” and “You Can Love Me Now”, you could feel a palpable connection between him and the crowd as they sang in unison.

At one point during the performance, Eric asked if anyone wanted to come up on stage with him for a song – and several brave souls took him up on it! These lucky few got an even more intimate experience as they danced side-by-side with their idol. It was clear that this concert was something truly special for all involved.

By the end of the night, it felt as though we’d been gifted with an unforgettable memory. Everyone left feeling inspired by Eric Benet’s amazing talent and moved by his passionate performance.

Conclusion

I was impressed with Eric Benet’s performance at B.B King’s in New York City. His soulful sound and passionate vocals captivated the audience. He had a great stage presence, which made it clear that he loves performing for his fans.

The crowd absolutely loved him! People were singing along to all of his songs and dancing in their seats. There was an energy in the room like no other – everyone was so enthusiastic and appreciative of his talent and music. It was impossible not to feel moved by the atmosphere.
