Rita Ora, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Kelly Clarkson have some of the year’s best charting dance/club songs.
According to Billboard, all four women are deserving of top 10 slots on the Best of 2012 year end Dance/Club Songs Chart for hits like “Dark Side” and “Pound The Alarm.”
While the top spot goes to Zedd for the song “Spectrum,” Rita Ora lands no.2 on the chart with the smash “How We Do (Party).” The breakthrough hit was taken from her debut album, which spawned the hit “R.I.P.” as well (no.10).
Nicki Minaj comes in at no.4 on the chart with “Pound The Alarm,” taken from “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.” Minaj also comes in at no.28 with “Starships” and no.41 with “Give Me All Your Luvin’,” which she shares with Madonna and M.I.A..
Rihanna follows the “American Idol” judge/mentor with “Where Have You Been (no.5),” which was taken from her hit album “Talk That Talk.” “You Da One” also slots within the top 20.
Kelly Clarkson rounds out the foursome with “Dark Side” (no.9).
Though we never got an album from any of the following women this year, their singles did quite well on this final chart. That includes Mariah Carey’s “Triumphant,” which clocks in at no.39. Toni Braxton’s single “I Heart You” also made the chart at no.43, just behind “X Factor USA” winner Melanie Amaro’s dance version of “Respect.”

It’s been a big year for two of the top female stars in music – Rihanna and Nicki Minaj. Both have released chart-topping singles, won awards, and continued to grow their fan base. And now, they’ve both made it onto one of 2012’s most prestigious lists: the best dance/club songs of the year! In this article, we’ll take a look at what makes these songs stand out from other club bangers that were released this year. So if you want to know why Rihanna and Nicki Minaj are making waves on the charts, read on!

The list in question is compiled by Billboard Magazine every year, featuring some of the biggest hits from artists across all genres. This year, there was an impressive lineup of pop songs including Maroon 5’s ‘One More Night’ and Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’, as well as hip-hop tracks such as Flo Rida’s ‘Wild Ones’. But among them sits Rihanna and Nicki Minaj with their respective tunes ‘Where Have You Been’ and ‘Starships’.

Rihanna has had quite a successful run over the past few years, winning multiple Grammys and topping several international charts with her albums Talk That Talk (2011) and Unapologetic (2012). Her single Where Have You Been was no exception; it quickly became one of her fastest rising hits ever. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj has also seen major success since 2010 when she signed with Young Money Entertainment. Her hit Starships reached number five on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart soon after its release earlier this year.

Their distinct styles, combined with their powerful vocals, make them stand out in the ever-evolving music industry. Both artists released several tracks throughout 2012 that quickly became popular on the charts.

The first song of Rihanna’s to make waves was her collaboration with Calvin Harris called “We Found Love”. The track had an infectious beat that kept people wanting more, while its positive message resonated well with listeners around the world. On top of this, its accompanying video showcased some beautiful visuals which only added to its appeal.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj’s hit single “Starships” also received considerable attention at clubs all over the globe. With its catchy chorus and energetic production, it got everyone moving on the dance floor. Additionally, it featured samples from other classic club hits such as Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Can’t Stop”, making it even more memorable for fans of those groups too.

Overall, both Rihanna and Nicki Minaj delivered some great tunes that left lasting impressions in 2012 – ones that will be remembered for years to come.
