Rihanna’s lucky number must be seven, because her seventh studio album has been the charm.
Released last Monday, the anticipated album, “Unapologetic,” debuted not only at no.1 on the Billboard 200 today, it also broke a first week sales record.
Thanks to sales in excess of 238,000 copies “Unapologetic” becomes Rihanna’s best selling album, in terms of first week sales, topping everything she has ever put out.
“The new album’s arrival surpasses her previous best frame, racked when 2010’s “Loud” launched at No. 3 with 207,000,” reports Billboard.
Rihanna was shocked by the news, taking her tears and thoughts to Twitter.
“Wait!!!!! What the FU** ?!!!! #UNAPOLOGETIC just debuted at #1 in AMERICA!!!!! My first number 1 album there!!! Thank you Navy, u deserve it. I’m legit crying like a pussy right now!! #UNAPOLOGETIC,” said Rihanna.
As previously reported, Rihanna’s “Unapologetic” debuted at no.1 in the UK as well.
