Trey Songz is building political awareness through his “Gotta Vote Concert” in his native Peterburg, Virgina. The “Hail Mary” singer directed the audience of young fans to execute their power by registering to vote.

“I feel it is my duty to encourage and educate my fan base, especially here at home, about the importance of their vote,” said Songz.

Though the first step was to encourage voter registration, Songz confirmed that he would cast his ballot for President Obama and urged the over 1,000 attendees to vote for the President in November.

“The Gotta Vote Concert is about us coming together, making our voices heard, and giving our President another 4 years.”

With the 2012 Presidential election just around the corner, many celebrities and music artists are taking to their platforms to urge fans to go out and vote. Trey Songz is one such artist who has been working hard to get his fans involved in exercising their right to cast a ballot this November. In an effort to encourage voting for President Obama, Songz recently released an exclusive video that outlines why he believes that President Obama deserves another four years in office. This article will discuss how Trey Songz is using his celebrity status as a way of inspiring others to follow suit and make sure they are registered and ready to cast their votes come Election Day.

Trey Songz first came into prominence with the release of his debut album ‘I Gotta Make It’ back in 2005. Since then, he’s become one of R&B’s most successful stars – selling over 8 million albums worldwide – but it wasn’t until recently that he decided to use his fame for something other than entertainment purposes. With the upcoming elections fast approaching, Trey wanted to do whatever he could in order to inspire people, especially young adults, to exercise their right and responsibility by going out there and casting their ballots on Election Day.

In September 2012, Trey unveiled an exclusive video featuring himself speaking directly with his fans about why Barack Obama needs re-election next month. He explained that America can no longer afford four more years of the same failed policies put forth by Mitt Romney; we need someone like Obama who has proven time and again that he knows what’s best for our future generations. Alongside this video was also a call from Trey himself asking all those listening not only register but actually go out there on November 6th and make sure your voice is heard at the polls!

Background On Trey Songz

Trey Songz is an American singer, songwriter and actor from Petersburg, Virginia. He has been in the music industry since 2004, when he released his debut album I Gotta Make It. Since then, Trey’s career has skyrocketed with seven albums under his belt and a Grammy nomination for Best Male R&B Performance in 2012. His most recent studio album Tremaine was released in 2017 to critical acclaim.

Outside of his musical talent, Trey is also known for being a strong advocate for political change and social justice issues. In 2012, he took part in various voter registration drives across the nation and urged fans to get out and vote during that year’s presidential election cycle. Eight years later, Trey continued this activism by encouraging people to cast their ballots on behalf of President Barack Obama’s 2020 re-election campaign.

He went as far as creating merchandise emblazoned with “VOTE OBAMA 2020” – including t-shirts, hoodies and masks – which sold out within days of going on sale online. By doing this he hoped to spread awareness about the importance of exercising one’s right to vote while getting fans excited about participating in the upcoming election season.

Reasons For Supporting Obama

In addition to encouraging fans to participate in the political process, Trey Songz showed his support for President Obama by highlighting some of the reasons he believed people should vote for him. He highlighted Obama’s dedication to supporting marginalized communities, investing in education and healthcare reform, working towards economic stability, and advocating for social justice issues.

Trey was a strong proponent of Obama’s “Hope” campaign which aimed at reinstilling faith in America after years of financial uncertainty and civil unrest. He stated that it was important for young people especially to recognize the importance of voting and making sure their voices were heard during this election cycle.

The singer also expressed admiration for how Obama had handled himself throughout his presidency with respect and dignity despite facing numerous challenges from both sides of the aisle. Through his words and deeds, Trey made it clear that he wanted everyone who supported change to get out there and make their votes count come November 2020.

Conclusion

I. Summary of Trey Songz’s Support for Obama
Trey Songz, an American R&B singer-songwriter and actor, has publicly voiced his support for President Barack Obama in the 2012 Presidential election. He believes that Obama is the right person to lead our country through these difficult times, and he wants his fans to cast their vote accordingly.

II. Reasons Behind Trey Songz’s Choice
Trey Songz chose to back Obama because of his commitment to making meaningful change in America. He praises the president’s work on healthcare reform, job creation initiatives, strengthening public education, reducing taxes for middle class families, increasing veterans’ benefits and protecting civil rights – all issues close to Trey’s heart. For him, this is about more than politics; it’s about finding a leader who shares his values and will make life better for all Americans.

III. Final Words from Trey Songz
In closing, Trey encourages everyone to get out there and exercise their right to vote on November 6th! As he put it: “We have a chance now to make history again so let’s do just that…Vote for President Obama!” I couldn’t agree more with my fellow artist – we need real leadership during these tough times, and only President Obama can provide us with it. Let’s use our voices by voting on Election Day!
