The nominations are in for the 2012 Soul Train Awards, and this year’s nods put it over the top for music vet R. Kelly. He’s nominated for two this year (the Ashford & Simpson songwriter’s award and Album of the Year), which totals 21 Soul Train nominations for Kelly, making him the most nominated act ever for the show.

Usher leads this year’s noms with a total of five, and New Edition will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Cedric the Entertainer will host.

The Soul Train Awards ceremony will be held at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas and taped on Nov. 8. The show will air Nov. 25 simultaneously both BET and Centric.
