Great minds think alike. Yesterday, both R&B heavyweights Brandy and Alicia Keys revealed the cover art for their upcoming musical opuses, each due out in a few months.
The artwork of Alicia’s project “Girl on Fire” features the singer starring off into the distance with determination. A fiery glow burns behind her. Debuting the image to followers on Twitter, Alicia tweeted, “Crazy excited!!! My new single #GirlOnFire will be unleashed soon!!! Are you ready? :)” The single will be available on iTunes on Sept 4, and will be performed by the singer-songwriter at the 2012 VMA’s on Sept 6. “Girl on Fire” drops on Nov 27.
Brandy’s album cover artwork also features the singer in a pose of strength. Rocking a royal blue, abs-baring ensemble, Brandy’s image seems to be making the statement that she’s solidifying her presence in the R&B game. Describing what’s to be expected on the compilation, the 33-year-old tells Rap-Up, “It’s just an R&B album, a rhythm and blues album. No gimmicks, real R&B music.” “Two Eleven” comes out on Oct. 16.
