Is the Queen of Soul ready and willing to appear on a reality TV series ? According to Aretha Franklin, she and other legendary voices should be on call for singing competitions such as American Idol, X Factor and The Voice.
“I would love to be a judge on one of those shows,” the Queen of Soul tells Chicago Sun Times.
While R&B voices including Mary J. Blige, Ne-Yo, John Legend and Robin Thicke have judged on shows like Duets and The Voice, Franklin doesn’t understand why producers aren’t calling veterans like Patti, Gladys or her.
“I don’t understand why singers like myself, Gladys [Knight], Natalie [Cole] and Patti [LaBelle] can’t be judges. We never get a call. I don’t understand it,” says Franklin. “I watch those shows from time to time. Some of the talent is very good. Some of it is fun. And some of it is really wild.”
