Singersroom’s “IndieRotation” is a weekly evaluation of the latest singles, leaks and releases from independent artists. Each week we will deliver a list that showcases the week’s hottest records based on our editorial staff, listeners feedback and spins.
Ro James has been lurking in the New York City creative seen, formulating a style that opposes a specific genre. As a singer/songwriter he draws influence from Lenny Kravitz, James Brown, Jodeci and Prince; if you attempt to classify James it would be R&B-Rock-Soul. Mr. James released the first single “Pledge Allegiance,” a patriotic devotion for love that pushes the passion for commitment from his gut to lips. His outbox style connect with the souls, pushing him to the top of Singersroom’s IndieRotation.
Music producer TJ Boyce is attempting to follow the career path as producer/artist Bryan-Michael Cox. Both artist share the same birthplace Houston, Texas, now TJ Boyce is looking to acquire the equivalent respect. Boyce introduces his vocal talent with the release of “No Panties,” a sultry record that leads your imagination to the obvious, but allows you to explore how to reach the finale. In his first move from behind the boards into the recording booth, he has been well received with the number two position on the chart.
The last three artists on the list are returning from last week former Dawn Richard, Cheri Coke (formerly Cheri Dennis) and soul songstress Angela Johnson.
