The “Nothing Even Matters” singer Lauryn Hill has found herself in a bit of a bind with Uncle Sam. Ms. Hill has reportedly been charged with not filing for $1.6 million in income throughout a 3 year span.
According to U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman The Miseducation singer/songwriter is facing three counts of failing to file income taxes in the years of 2005, 2006 and 2007. Each year and count Hill has a maximum penalty of a year in prison and a $100,000 fine which equals up to three years in prison and up to $300,000.
Lauryn will face Uncle Sam and three charges on June 29. Despite the pending court appearance, Hill’s attorney Nathan Hochman of Bingham McCutchen, didn’t immediately respond to messages seeking comment about the matter, reports The Star-Ledger.
