When Rihanna isn’t busy dominating the music charts, she’s breaking previous records set by other artists. Although Rihanna’s newest video “Where Have You Been” was just officially released yesterday (May 3rd), the Bajan princess has already broken a VEVO record with the view count.

The pop star has managed to rake in a record-breaking 4.9 million views, excluding bots and the like. This makes it the most views for any music video during its 24-hour release period on VEVO, breaking the record that Nicki Minaj held previously with 4.8 million views for her “Stupid Hoe” video.

Rihanna quickly took to her official Twitter account to thank her fans. “That Rihanna reign just won’t let up! #WHYBvideo holds the new 24hr record for VEVO! My #NaviTrillAsPhuck thank you n congrats!” she tweeted.

“Where Have You Been” is lifted off of Rihanna’s sixth album, ‘Talk That Talk,’ available now.

What do you get when you combine an internationally renowned singer, a chart-topping song and the world’s largest online music video site? In Rihanna’s case, it was a record-breaking success! The Barbadian pop star’s hit single “Where Have You Been” has officially broken VEVO records. It’s no wonder people are tuning in to see what all the buzz is about.

In 2011, Rihanna released her fifth studio album “Talk That Talk” which featured this high energy dance track that quickly became one of her most popular songs. Since then, the catchy tune has been streamed over 500 million times on VEVO, making it one of their most watched videos ever. This accomplishment speaks volumes for both Rihanna’s popularity as well as VEVO itself.

Much like with any other artist or band, there will always be some controversy surrounding them; but in Rihanna’s case, she can stand proud knowing that her efforts have paid off and that her fans have helped break yet another record for her.

Music Video Overview

Rihanna’s music video for “Where Have You Been” created a record on VEVO, the world’s biggest online music video platform. The song reached 100 million views in just one year and two months since its release in April 2012, setting a new milestone. This success is impressive considering that Rihanna had already achieved an astounding level of fame prior to this achievement.

The upbeat track has earned praise not only from fans but also from critics around the globe who have commended its infectious beats. With lyrics about being away from someone you love and wanting them by your side, it perfectly captures feelings of nostalgia and longing. Furthermore, Rihanna’s captivating choreography and stunning visuals add to the overall impact of the video. As a result, viewers are able to connect with her message of missing somebody close while immersing themselves in her catchy rhythms at the same time.

It comes as no surprise then that “Where Have You Been” has become such a hit among both long-time supporters and newcomers alike. Its combination of heartfelt lyrics, memorable dance moves and mesmerizing visuals make it easy to understand why people can’t get enough of this classic jam!

Achievements And Accolades

It is no wonder then that ‘Where Have You Been’ has become such a popular hit, earning numerous awards and accolades along the way. The track was certified platinum in multiple countries, including the UK, US, Australia, and Canada. It also earned Rihanna her tenth Grammy nomination in 2012, making her the youngest artist ever to reach this milestone. Additionally, it became one of only five singles by female artists to top Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for more than ten weeks since its inception in 1958.

This success did not go unnoticed as many publications around the world highlighted ‘Where Have You Been’ for its incredible achievements. Time Magazine named it one of their “Songs of the Year” while Rolling Stone listed it as number nine on their list of “50 Best Songs of 2012”. This tune further gained recognition when MTV deemed it their third best video released during that year behind Taylor Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and Gotye feat Kimbra’s “Somebody That I Used To Know”.

Clearly, there is much to celebrate about Rihanna’s single ‘Where Have You Been’. Its memorable lyrics and catchy beats have captivated music lovers worldwide while earning countless awards and recognitions at the same time. It goes without saying that this song will continue to be celebrated long into the future!

Conclusion

I. In conclusion, Rihanna’s “Where Have You Been” is an impressive accomplishment for the artist and her team. The video has garnered numerous awards and accolades since its release in 2012, including a Guinness World Record for most views of a song on VEVO within 24 hours.
