Monica and Brandy are ready for their much-talked-about tour. But, the “It All Belongs To Me” singers aren’t going it alone.
Putting her hopes for an all female tour out there Thursday, Monica says other women in music are more than welcome.
“I would love for it to be all female where you can come out and see women do their thing, every night,” Monica told Essence. “We’re looking for other people to go out with us as well.”
In related news, Monica has opened up discussing her last moments with the late Whitney Houston. Admitting it was hard to deal with her death, Monica says she’s holding on to a few things Houston shared during her last days.
“I’m grateful for the two days we shared together before she passed. We were able to talk about some things and share some things that I’ll be able to carry with me for the rest of my life. It’s hard to describe that kind of pain,” says Monica. “She didn’t get peace in the midst of her life here on earth. I think that it’s best that she get that peace in her death and always get that respect that she deserves in the end.”
Monica is also promoting the release of her new album, “New Life.” Released Tuesday, the album features songs like “Until It’s Gone,” “Anything (To Find You)” and “It All Belongs To Me.”
The life and legacy of legendary singer, Whitney Houston, has been a topic of discussion for many years. From her chart-topping hits to her untimely passing, her memory lives on in the hearts of millions around the world. Now, Monica is giving fans an intimate look into Houston’s final days with her new tour: ‘Monica Talks’. With over twenty dates lined up throughout the U.S., this highly anticipated tour will offer an inside look at what it was like to be close friends with one of music’s most iconic stars.
For those who are unfamiliar with Monica and Whitney’s relationship, they were first introduced by their mothers when they were children and quickly became best friends. They shared long talks about boys, school, family – anything that came up from day-to-day teenage life. The pair remained lifelong fixtures in each other’s lives until Whitney passed away unexpectedly in 2012.
Now seven years later, Monica is finally ready to talk publicly about her time spent with Whitney during those last few months before she died; and we have front row seats! Through candid conversations on stage and exclusive video footage showing never-before-seen moments between them both, ‘Monica Talks’ promises to bring fans closer than ever as she shares stories only a true friend could tell.
Monica’s Reflections On Whitney Houston
Monica has been reflecting on the difficult last days she shared with Whitney Houston. She recalled how their friendship had changed and grown over time, from music industry acquaintances to close confidantes. There were moments when they laughed together, exchanged advice, and supported one another through trials of heartbreak and financial insecurity. They promised to stay in touch no matter what life threw at them.
But in the final months before Whitney’s death, Monica sensed a shift between them. The singer was struggling personally and professionally – her abusive marriage to Bobby Brown weighed heavy on her spirit, while her career seemed to be fading away under the weight of tabloid drama. In spite of these struggles, though, Whitney still kept up appearances for those around her; she put aside any differences that may have existed between them out of politeness or love.
The tour turned out to be an incredible experience for both women as it brought back fond memories of past successes. But there was also sadness in knowing that this would almost certainly be their last venture together. It was a bittersweet moment that left Monica feeling grateful yet pensive about their time spent side by side throughout the years.
Memories Of The Tour
Monica will always remember the weeks spent on tour with Whitney fondly. Despite the pain and struggles that Whitney was enduring, she still managed to put on a brave face for those around her, making sure everyone else was having a good time. The crowds were huge and enthusiastic, singing along to all of their favorite songs from both artists’ repertoires. Monica could hardly believe how lucky they were to be sharing this final journey together – it felt like an affirmation of the bond between them in some way.
The two friends took every opportunity available to talk about old memories, current events, and what might come next for each of them after the tour ended. Every conversation had its own unique flavor – sometimes lighthearted and funny; other times deep and intense as they discussed difficult subjects like death or relationships gone wrong. They even made plans for future collaborations that sadly never came to fruition due to Whitney’s untimely passing only months later.
Throughout it all, there was something special between these two women who’d started out as colleagues in the music industry but had grown into much more over time: true friendship. As heartbreaking as it is not being able to share any more moments with Whitney, Monica cherishes the ones they did have during this last incredible tour forever.
