With a tall 104 episodes ordered, ‘First Family,’ a new series starring Gladys Knight, John Witherspoon, and Jackee Harry is gearing up for national syndication.
Confirmed by Byron Allen of Entertainment Studios, the series will focus on a family residing in The White House.
“There’s a huge shortfall of quality family sitcoms, and we are 110 percent committed to filling that enormous void,” Allen said Thursday.
Also starring Christopher B. Duncan, who will portray the President of the United States, the scripted comedy will make its debut Fall 2012.
Veteran talent Michael D. Roberts (Seinfeld), Paul Rodriguez, Marla Gibbs (227, The Jeffersons) and Kellita Smith (The Bernie Mac Show) will also star in the series.
Gladys Knight can also be seen competing on the new season of Dancing With The Stars airing Monday and Tuesday nights on ABC.
