Deborah Cox will return to Broadway in the just announced 2013 run of Jekyll & Hyde !
Cox joins Constantine Maroulis in the forthcoming production, slated to open on Broadway spring of 2013 after a 25-week national tour. A pre-tour engagement will also take place September 7 – 30 in La Mirada, CA.
According to Broadway, the forthcoming production will be directed and choreographed by Jeff Calhoun. Based on The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, the musical is the story of a London doctor who, in an attempt to cure his father’s mental illness, creates an evil alternate personality who causes violence and destruction.
Cox is no stranger to Broadway, appearing in the Elton John & Tim Rice produced Aida (2004). She has also released five albums over time, including the 2008 effort “Promise.”
