Although Rihanna may be one of the biggest pop stars, KISS bassist Gene Simmons isn’t all that impressed. While at a press conference yesterday (March 20th) to announce the band’s upcoming summer tour with Motley Crue, Simmons made sure to emphasize that the shows will feature live and authentic music, much unlike a specific chart-topper — Rihanna.

“We’re sick and tired of girls getting up there with dancers and karaoke tapes in back of them,” Simmons said, according to Billboard. “No karaoke singers allowed. No fake bullsh-t. Leave that to Rihanna-Schimianna and everybody else whose name ends with an ‘A.'”

Motley Crue’s drummer Tommy Lee also echoed Simmons’ sentiments.

“No disrespect to Rihanna, she’s a great singer, but we’re in a slump for some sh-t that has some personality and appeal beyond a bunch of pop stuff that’s floating around out there,” he said.

“I’m glad he said that actually because I don’t think I can bear watching another f-king award show that is just a little better than ‘American Idol,'” he continued. “It’s f-king pathetic to watch people go out and f-king karaoke with a bunch of lights and video. It’s all completely watered down.”

A representative for Rihanna was unavailable to respond to these comments.

Gene Simmons and Tommy Lee have fired shots at Rihanna’s stage show. The legendary rock band KISS frontman Gene Simmons, along with Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, has recently expressed their opinion about the Barbadian singer’s current tour. Both artists took to social media to criticize her show in terms of its production value and content.

The two iconic musicians’ comments come as a surprise considering they both belong to different generations and musical backgrounds. While on one hand we have the 70-year-old rocker whose career spans over five decades; on the other, we have an equally talented metal artist from the 80s who is still active today. Despite these differences, both music legends seem to share similar thoughts when it comes to Rihanna’s concerts.

This article aims to explore this unexpected clash between three distinct genres: classic rock, heavy metal and pop music. We will take a closer look at what precisely Gene Simmons and Tommy Lee had to say about Rihanna’s shows as well as reflect upon why such opinions were formed in the first place.

Criticism Of Rihanna’s Performance

Rihanna’s latest stage show has come under fire from two unlikely sources: Gene Simmons and Tommy Lee. Both legendary rockers have criticized the singer’s performance, citing an apparent lack of energy and substance in her set.
Simmons seemed particularly unimpressed with Rihanna’s onstage antics; he tweeted that “the show should be about the music, not smoke machines & pyrotechnics.” He added that “stage shows used to be about sharing your soul…not just performing for a paycheck”.
Lee chimed in on Twitter as well, claiming that Rihanna’s show was “just OK” and lacking in creativity. He went on to say that there were no real surprises or unique moments during her performance.
It appears both musicians feel strongly about artistry being more than just flashiness and spectacle – something which they believe is missing from many modern-day performances. Whether their comments are valid or not remains to be seen. But it’s clear they felt compelled enough by what they saw (or didn’t see) to voice their opinions publicly.

Response From Rihanna’S Fans

Rihanna’s fans have been quick to defend her performance, accusing the two rockers of being too old-fashioned and out of touch. Many argued that the show was full of energy and creativity, noting how Rihanna had incorporated elements from multiple musical genres into her set.
Others felt there was nothing wrong with having a little bit of spectacle in her performance; after all, it looks like she put a lot of work into crafting an entertaining show for her audience. And as one fan pointed out on Twitter: “You can’t really blame [Rihanna] if some people just don’t get what she is trying to do”.

Ultimately, both sides seem to agree that each artist should be true to their own style – whether that involves pyrotechnics or not! It will be interesting to see how this debate plays out over time, but for now it seems clear that fans are firmly behind Rihanna despite Gene Simmons and Tommy Lee’s criticism.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Gene Simmons and Tommy Lee recently fired shots at Rihanna’s stage show. Their criticism of her performance sparked a lot of backlash from Rihanna’s fans. They defended the singer for putting on an entertaining show with flashy costumes and intricate choreography.

Ultimately, this situation serves as a reminder that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but there are still consequences when those opinions cross the line into disrespect towards another artist. There will always be critics who express negative feedback about any artist’s work, but it’s important to remember that art is subjective, and many people can appreciate different aspects of a person’s creativity.

At the end of the day, we should all focus on uplifting one another instead of tearing each other down over artistic differences. We’re not all going to agree on what makes good music or great performances – however, mutual respect is essential in order to keep conversations positive and productive.
