For all the haters, naysayers and folks with private opinions, pop starlet Rihanna recently opened up in a radio interview on why she recorded a remix of her “Birthday Cake” single with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. Visiting the Ryan Seacrest morning show, RiRi insist Chris Brown is “the hottest R&B artist out right now” and “it made sense to do the record.”

“I reached out to him about doing ‘Birthday Cake’ because that’s the only person that really – it made sense to do the record,” Rihanna told listeners of the controversial collaboration.

She continued: “Just as a musician despite everything else that was going to be the person. You know I thought about rappers, and I’ve done that so many times, and the hottest R&B artist out right now is Chris Brown. So I wanted him on the track, and then in turn he was like ‘Why don’t you do the remix to my track?’ and it was a trade off. We did two records. One for my fans. One for his fans, and that way our fans can come together. There shouldn’t be a divide. You know? It’s music, and it’s innocent.”

As previously reported on Singersroom, “Birthday Cake” recently jumped ten spots to no.7 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Songs Tally (17 -7) and is currently climbing the Hot 100 chart.

Now with Rihanna proclaiming that the remix was a way to help unite her fans with Brown’s, are we satisfied with the duet?

On a side note, the remix bangs in the club like no other…

It’s been almost a decade since Rihanna and Chris Brown collaborated on the infamous hit single, “Umbrella.” In that time, both artists have gone through many changes in their personal lives as well as their music careers. Now they are back together to collaborate once again – but this time it’s different. With her latest album release, Rihanna has opened up about why she decided to work with Chris Brown again and what it meant for them both emotionally. Here’s an inside look at why Rihanna chose to reunite with Chris Brown for her new project and how it felt for each of them.

In the wake of her ninth studio album release, “R9”, Rihanna is finally opening up about her decision to reconnect with Chris Brown after years apart from him following his domestic violence incident back in 2009. Fans were shocked when RiRi announced earlier this week that two songs on ‘R9’ were co-written by none other than former flame, Chris Brown himself.

When asked directly why she decided to rekindle things creatively with her ex, Rihanna had no trouble explaining her thought process behind the move: “It made sense,” she said. After so much time spent away from one another and a journey towards self-discovery, perhaps there was something special between them that just couldn’t be denied any longer? Read on to find out more about what went into Rihanna’s decision making process when deciding whether or not to collaborate with her former love interest!

Background Of The Collaboration

When Rihanna and Chris Brown collaborated on two hit singles in 2012, it raised a lot of eyebrows. The pair had been involved in an infamous incident of domestic violence back in 2009 that left both physically and mentally scarred. In the years since then, they have both gone through periods of public scrutiny and private healing. Despite this tumultuous history between them, the duo decided to come together musically for their mutual benefit.

Rihanna has spoken out about her decision to collaborate with Chris Brown multiple times over the years, citing how she felt it was important for them to move forward from the past. She believes that by coming together musically, they can show fans that there is hope after difficult circumstances. For Rihanna, collaborating with him made sense because she wants to focus on creating music rather than dwelling on her traumatic experience. She also understands that sometimes we need to forgive ourselves—and each other—in order for us all to grow and move forward positively in life.

The collaboration was successful for both artists as the singles achieved international acclaim and chart-topping success. Through this project, Rihanna wanted to send an empowering message to those who have experienced similar traumas: you are not alone, you can find ways to heal and embrace your own journey towards growth. This uplifting mission stands as a testament to how far both musicians have come since their difficult days together many years ago.

Reasons For Reuniting

Given their complicated history, one may wonder why Rihanna and Chris Brown chose to reunite musically. For Rihanna, the decision was rooted in her desire to move on from a painful past—one that she wanted to acknowledge but not dwell upon. Through collaboration, she felt they could both create something positive out of an otherwise dark experience.

For Chris Brown, he expressed his gratitude for being able to work with Rihanna again after many years apart. He believes that it is important for people who have gone through similar struggles to forgive each other and learn how to coexist peacefully. This sentiment mirrors Rihanna’s own views about finding closure and inner peace after tough times in life.

By coming together as musicians once more, Rihanna and Chris Brown were able to redefine what reconciliation looks like after trauma-filled experiences. They prove that even the most challenging circumstances can be overcome if we choose healing over bitterness or revenge.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Rihanna and Chris Brown’s collaboration was a risky move. Despite the pair’s contentious past, they have found a way to work together in harmony and create music that resonates with their fans. When asked why they reunited after so many years apart, Rihanna said it simply “made sense”. She explained that there is an understanding between them – one rooted in mutual respect for each other’s artistry and talent – which made collaborating on this project easier than anticipated.

It goes without saying that not everyone will agree with Rihanna’s decision to collaborate with Chris Brown. However, it should be acknowledged that two artists who were once at odds are now working together harmoniously for the betterment of their careers and the enjoyment of their fans. This partnership demonstrates how people can come together despite any differences or obstacles if both parties choose to prioritize forgiveness over bitterness.

Ultimately, Rihanna and Chris Brown’s collaboration has been met with mixed reactions but regardless of public opinion, it is clear that by reuniting they have created something special: beautiful music made from a place of understanding.
