Could Janet Jackson be the big star Simon Cowell has been looking for to boost his X Factor USA panel ? According to reports late Thursday, the “Rhythm Nation” singer could be seated between Cowell and L.A. Reid if negotiations go well.
Jackson reportedly expressed interest in the show first, nearly confirming she was being considered on Anderson earlier this week. Answering Cooper, who asked her if she would consider the job, Jackson said “No. I’m not a judge on The X Factor”. Minutes later she said, “No, I am not. But that’s all I really think I should say,” when Cooper said “you’re not currently a judge on X Factor.”
Talks are in preliminary stage following Cowell’s decision to fire Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones.
Hours after Whitney Houston’s death last week, Cowell had also confirmed she was to meet with him to discuss appearing on the show.
Sources also claim Pink and Katy Perry are possible contenders.
The X Factor USA returns this Fall on FOX.
