Twin sister duo Nina Sky first caught national attention in 2004 with the release of their self titled debut album featuring club hit “Move Ya Body.” Since the initial project, new releases from Nicole and Natalie Albino have been held in limbo because of various business obstacles with record labels.

The group was released from Universal in 2007 and later received their freedom from Polo Grounds Music after disputing with the company in regards to supporting their sophomore project.

The pair regrouped to release their first independent project entitled ‘The Other Side’ in 2011. Now they are prepping the release of their second indie project, scheduled for May 2012, featuring the lead single “Day Dreaming.”

Nicole discussed with Rap-Up her enthusiasm for the upcoming effort insisting, “I’m really excited about our project as Nina Sky and putting out something fresh and new, and putting out a full album since we haven’t done that in eight years.”

Eight years ago, Nina Sky burst onto the music scene with their debut album and hit single “Move Ya Body”. Now, after a long delay, the duo of Nicole and Natalie Albino are preparing to break out of the dreaded sophomore jinx. With an upcoming EP release and more projects on the horizon, it looks like Nina Sky is ready to make up for lost time.

The journey has been anything but easy for these two Puerto Rican-American sisters from Queens. They found success quickly in 2004 with their first record, which featured collaborations with stars such as Jabba and Fat Joe. However, despite receiving positive reviews, they soon ran into numerous issues that prevented them from releasing new material until this point.

These days though, things look different – brighter even! The pair have just announced plans to drop a new EP later this year titled ‘Girl Power’. This project is sure to be packed with bangers showcasing both Nicole and Natalie’s chemistry on vocals. After eight long years away from the limelight, it appears that Nina Sky are set to pick up right where they left off…

Background Of The Duo

Nina Sky is a Puerto Rican-American reggaeton duo made up of identical twin sisters Nicole and Natalie Albino. The pair rose to fame in 2004 with their hit single “Move Ya Body,” which catapulted them into the mainstream music scene. Since then, they have released two full-length albums—2004’s self-titled Nina Sky and 2009’s The Musical—and appeared on several singles by other artists, including Pitbull’s “Oye Baby” and Akon’s “Beautiful.”

However, after eight years since the release of their last album, it seemed that Nina Sky had gone quiet in terms of new releases. But now, thanks to the help of Sony Music Latin, the twins are ready to break out of this so called “sophomore jinx” with their upcoming third LP titled Brightest Gold. They have already dropped some singles from this project such as “Good Times Roll (featuring Gucci Mane)” and “Hasta Que Salga El Sol.”

The duo also recently announced plans for an extensive world tour that will take them across North America and Europe throughout 2019/2020. With all these exciting developments happening for them right now, it looks like Nina Sky are more than prepared to make 2019 their year!

Reasons For The 8 Year Delay

Though Nina Sky’s previous two albums were met with success, the twins had to face a long eight-year delay before they could release their third. This was due in part to business decisions made by their label at the time, as well as challenges that came from trying to balance music and family life.

The sisters had become mothers during this period, making it difficult for them to commit full-time to the project. However, despite these obstacles, Nicole and Natalie never gave up on their dream of creating new music—they simply needed more time to make sure everything was done right. Thanks in part to Sony Music Latin offering support and guidance along the way, they have now been able to achieve this goal with Brightest Gold.

It’s clear that Nina Sky are finally ready to take over 2019! With an upcoming LP and tour plans already underway, there is no doubt that they will be dominating stages all across the globe this year. Fans everywhere can’t wait to see what else these talented twin sisters have in store for us!

Conclusion

The duo Nina Sky, composed of Nicole and Natalie Albino, have been through a lot to prepare for the release of their sophomore album. After an eight year delay due to personal struggles and label issues, they are now ready to make waves in the music industry once again. Despite all the obstacles, this dynamic sister act has kept themselves motivated and determined to beat any jinx that might come their way.

Their resilience is a testament to how strong they can be when it comes to pursuing what they love most—music. They’ve put aside anything that could potentially stand between them and achieving success as artists; instead, they chose to focus on creating meaningful content with each other. We can only expect great things from these two talented ladies as they continue working hard towards establishing their place in the music scene.

Nina Sky is certainly not afraid of taking risks or facing challenges head-on; they know that if you want something bad enough, then you must do whatever it takes to get there. They may have gone through some tough times but those experiences will ultimately help them reach new heights in their careers and build even stronger relationships with their fans around the world.
