Andre Harrell, CEO of Harrell Records and music business veteran executive, addresses several questions surrounding the music business including why African-Americans have not started a distribution company, death of artist development, and the music pulse of America.
The record business is the most cultural influential part of the entertainment business, because music is the cheapest thing to do that really lets the new voices of a generation out first,” says Harrell. “If you want to have your hand on the pulse of America, the music business is still that pulse…more that TV, more than film, more than any other means of mass entertainment.”
In his latest record label venture, Mr. Harrell has partner with L7 Entertainment with plans to release new projects from Hamilton Park and Netta Brielle.
