The Drinkard Singers are known vastly for laying the foundation for some of the greatest music legends to ever grace the stage, including Whitney Houston and Dionne Warwick.
In a new documentary entitled ‘The Wonderful Family of Divas,’ renowned filmmaker Gary Keys honors the family that helped define the pop culture and its influence on music as a whole. The film looks into the Drinkard family, whose impact on gospel helped pave the way for some of music’s icons such as Dionne Warwick, Cissy Houston and Whitney Houston.
The documentary will feature performances, never-before-seen footage and exclusive interviews as it traces the family history and its musical beginnings and the success that’s come since then. Whitney Houston, Dionne Warwick, Cissy Houston and the Sweet Inspirations, The Drinkard Singers, Roberta Flak, Gary Houston and The Drinkard Singers II will all make appearances in the film.
