Pop icon Janet Jackson has found herself as the latest target of PETA. Jackson has just been named the Grinch of the Year for 2011 by the animal rights organization due to the recent launch of her collection with popular fur label, Blackglama.
PETA released an official press release on the matter, insulting not only Jackson’s wardrobe choice, but also her career as well.
“When Janet Jackson had her infamous ‘wardrobe malfunction’ during the Super Bowl, at least the flesh that popped into view was her own â unlike the stolen animal skins that she drapes herself with, which are as dead as her taste in fashion (not to mention her career),” the organization said in the statement. “Ms. Jackson, you’re just plain nasty.”
In addition, director Cameron Crowe and Kim Kardashian were also called out by PETA for their “animal-unfriendly” actions. Crowe used real animals his latest film, “We Bought A Zoo,” while Kardashian refused to wear fake fur.
