Pussycat Doll singer Nicole Scherzinger may have leaked news about her possible departure from the X Factor after its debut season. In a recent interview, the season one judge talks focusing on music in 2012, insisting it was something that she had no time to do this year.
“Next year for me, it’s about my music,” Scherzinger told Radar Online. “This has been quite a learning experience, quite a journey for me. I didn’t expect to have been so emotional through the whole elimination process. I wanted to just mentor and empower artists.”
Scherzinger also touched on the delay of her forthcoming debut solo album, admitting that the show was a huge part of its hold up.
“The reason it hasn’t come out yet is because of The X Factor. It’s been so time consuming. I work with these contestants six days a week. So I delayed the album, but I was able to perform one of my new singles last week,” she says.
She continues: “I’m used to being on stage and performing and singing for people and people cheering for me. I am an artist first, not a judge first!”
In addition to her interview, show founder Simon Cowell also hinted about Scherzinger not returning, telling TV Guide that “we change these shows all the time. You listen to the network, you listen to the sponsors.”
