Season 2 American Idol winner Ruben Studdard announced his marriage of three years with Surata Zuri McCants has ended. The couple met in October 2006 when he was signing albums at a Wal-Mart in Atlanta, Georgia.
The pair exchanged marital vows in 2008 in Alabama, Ruben’s home state, and initially the couple separated in 2010.
Earlier this year, Studdard inked a recording contract with independent record label Shanachie Records. He is working on his fifth studio album; no release date has been scheduled for the album.
