Dr. Conrad Murray has been placed in the medical ward at L.A. County Jail under suicide watch, according to TMZ.
Allegedly, Murray has been telling his visitors that he is contemplating suicide. Murray was recently found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of pop icon Michael Jackson.
TMZ reports that Murray has told several people that have visited him whilst in jail that he wanted to kill himself, including his bodyguard Jeff, his baby mama Nicole Alvarez, and his lawyers.
The spokesperson for the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department refused to comment on why Murray has been in the medical ward for over a week, stating “A person’s medical or mental health status in the Los Angeles County Jail is protected under the law.”
Murray currently faces a maximum of four years in state prison, though he may never serve a single day in prison due to a new California law. If he is sentenced to all four years, Murray will serve out a maximum of two in L.A. County Jail, and possibly eligible for house arrest. Murray is set to be sentenced on November 29th.
