Grammy Award winning singer Betty Wright has collaborated with various artists over the past few decades by allowing them to sample her voice; one of the most popular being “Clean Up Woman,” sampled by SWV, Mary J. Blige and Sublime.
Now Wright will team up with many of the artists she has inspired for a new album of duets entitled ‘Betty Wright: The Movie.’ The record will include guest appearances from The Roots, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg and Joss Stone.
It has been a decade since the accomplished soul singer released a new album and this new project is about painting the perfect story song by song.
“You can usually see what I say,” said Wright. “I decided that each song would be a vision that you could take to the screen ⦠14 songs equal 14 movies.”
‘Betty Wright: The Movie’ is scheduled for release on November 15, 2011.
