Earlier this week, news surfaced that pop sensation Justin Bieber was accused of fathering a child. According to reports, 20-year-old Mariah Yeater has filed a paternity suit against the 17-year-old singer for fathering her three-month-old child.
Finally speaking about the incident outside of his Twitter, Bieber appeared on The Today Show today (November 4th) stating, “Set the record straight, none of it’s true. Never met the woman.”
He added, “I know that I’m going to be a target, but I’m never gonna be a victim.”
Allegedly, Yeater met Bieber backstage at one his concerts in Los Angeles. From there, the two supposedly proceeded to have sexual intercourse in a bathroom. Now, Yeater claims her child was conceived that very same night and wants the “Never Say Never” singer to take a paternity test to prove it to the Beliebers out there.
When filing the suit, Yeater told a judge, “When I later realized I was pregnant with Justin Bieber’s baby, I tried to contact him through his representatives but no one ever called me back.
“On July 6, 2011, I gave birth to a baby boy. That was exactly 36 weeks and two days after the sexual encounter with Justin Bieber. Based upon the timing as well as the fact there were no other possible men that I had sex with that could be the father of this baby, I believe that Justin Bieber is in fact the father of my baby.”
Before The Today Show, Bieber had remained relatively quiet regarding the suit, other than tweeting “so Im going to ignore the rumors…and focus on what is real. an opportunity to help by doing what i love. Judge me on the music! Love yall!”
His rep has released an official statement on the matter stating, “While we haven’t yet seen the lawsuit, it’s sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims. We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations.”
A California court has set a hearing for December, so we’ll be keeping you updated. So who do you Beliebe?
