The 2011 Soul Train Awards have selected to honor Earth, Wind and Fire and Gladys Knight as the recipients of the “Legend Award.” Last year the guest of honor was “Body and Soul” singer Anita Baker, who was serenaded with a tribute from Chrisette Michele, Goapele, Lalah Hathaway, Dionne Farris, Kem, Tamia, Faith Evans and El DeBarge.
The award show switched hosting duties from Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson to comedian/actor Cedric The Entertainer as the host of the 3rd Annual Soul Train Awards.
The taping of the show will be at Atlanta’s iconic Fox Theatre and the show will premiere November 27, 2011 on BET and Centric.
