Rapper Drake may be The Weeknd’s biggest fan. Confirming the R&B newcomer will play an sizeable role on his forthcoming album, Take Care, Drake insist he’s one of the “greatest.”

“He’s one of the greatest artists I’ve ever heard, and he’s on my album a lot,” Drake tells Billboard. “We really collaborated a lot on this album. Not only did he inspire me to get out there and try and sing better onstage, but he inspired me just writing-wise, music-wise, just to better my product.”

Drake continued: “I’m just proud, I’m proud of him. He works really hard. He’s just an incredible person. He’s become a really close friend to me.”

The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfay, caught the attention of millions after releasing his mixtape, House of Balloons, back in March (2011). The 21-year-old, also from Ontario, Canada has been able to capture fans attention with his diverse lyrical content and sultry voice on songs like “The Morning” and “Wicked Games.”

Listen to The Weeknd – House of Balloons Mixtape

The Weeknd, a burgeoning R&B artist, has been receiving high praise from one of the biggest names in hip-hop: Drake. This young vocalist is quickly making waves with his unique brand of soulful music and captivating sound. As he continues to make strides and gain recognition in both the industry and from fans alike, it’s clear that The Weeknd is here to stay!

Since first emerging on the scene in 2011 with his mixtape ‘House Of Balloons’, The Weeknd has continued to break boundaries. With hits such as “Can’t Feel My Face” and “Starboy”, this multi-talented musician has gained an impressive fan base spanning all genres. Recently, Canadian rapper Drake took notice of The Weeknd’s talent, hailing him as “the greatest new artist out.” Such a statement coming from someone as respected as Drake speaks volumes about the quality of The Weeknd’s artistry and what lies ahead for this talented newcomer.

It will be exciting to watch where The Weeknd goes next musically – there are no limits for what he can accomplish! With powerful statements like Drake’s ringing through the airwaves, it won’t be long before we witness just how far his star will rise.

Overview Of The Weeknd’s Music Career

The Weeknd, born Abel Tesfaye, has been making waves in the music industry since 2010. His career began with a series of mixtapes he released independently on his website and through YouTube. These early releases were met with critical acclaim as they showcased The Weeknd’s unique blend of R&B/soul and alternative hip hop styles. He quickly gained an online following that helped propel him to the top of the charts after his first studio album was released in 2011.

Since then, The Weeknd has continued to carve out a successful career for himself by releasing multiple chart-topping albums, singles, and collaborations with other artists. His work has earned him numerous awards including several Grammys and MTV Music Awards. What’s more, he also won praise from fellow Canadian artist Drake who proclaimed “The Weeknd is like one of my sons” during a 2017 interview with Zane Lowe.

Clearly, The Weeknd is at the height of his powers right now and it looks like there are many successes yet to come for this talented musician. With so much positive momentum behind him already, it will be exciting to see what comes next for The Weeknd as he continues to make history in the music world.

Drake’s Endorsement Of The Weeknd

The Weeknd’s star has been on the rise for some time, but it was not until Drake came out with his endorsement that people began to pay special attention. In an interview with Zane Lowe in 2017, Drake spoke highly of The Weeknd, calling him “one of my sons” and praising his musical talent. This endorsement from one of Canada’s most successful rappers had a significant impact on The Weeknd as he suddenly found himself thrust into the spotlight.

Not only did this boost The Weeknd’s profile significantly, but it also opened up many new opportunities for collaboration and recognition. Since then, Drake and The Weeknd have collaborated on numerous songs such as “Crew Love” and “Live For”. These collaborations have resulted in even more success for both artists as they continue to dominate the charts together.

Going forward, there is no doubt that these two Canadian superstars will remain close collaborators who share an immense mutual respect for each other’s talents. With their combined success already reaching unprecedented heights, we can be sure that bigger things are yet to come from this dynamic duo.

Conclusion

The Weeknd has come a long way since his early days of releasing mixtapes. His music career has taken off, and he’s now being recognized by one of the most influential artists in hip-hop: Drake.

It is clear that The Weeknd is here to stay, especially with Drake publicly praising him for his talent. With such an endorsement from someone as successful as Drake, it won’t be surprising if The Weeknd continues to make waves throughout R&B music. He has gained recognition outside of Canada due to Drake’s influence and could become one of the biggest stars in R&B today.

I’m excited to see what else this rising star will do with his music career. It certainly looks like he’s on track for more success! Here’s hoping that he follows up on all the hype surrounding his name and continues making great music for us fans to enjoy!
